Six metres. One weaver. Many weeks.

A silk saree is woven on a handloom, thread by thread. The zari border is worked separately and joined to the body by hand, and the pallu alone can take a weaver several days. Nothing about it is quick, which is rather the point.

Before you buy

Does the saree come with a blouse piece?

Yes. Every saree includes an unstitched blouse piece attached at the pallu end, unless the product page says otherwise. Stitching is not included.

How do I care for a silk saree?

Dry clean only, and only when it needs it — silk does not like frequent cleaning. Store it folded in a cotton cloth rather than plastic, and refold along different lines every few months so the zari does not crack where it creases.

When will my order arrive?

Orders are dispatched within two working days. Delivery within India takes three to seven days depending on the pin code. You will get a tracking link by email as soon as it ships.

Can I return a saree?

Yes, within seven days of delivery, provided it is unused, unaltered and has its tags intact. Refunds go back to the original payment method. Sarees that have been stitched or altered cannot be returned.

Do you ship internationally?

We do, to most countries. International orders over ₹39,999 ship free. Customs duties and local taxes are payable by the recipient.

Is the zari real?

Where a saree is described as pure zari, the thread is silver electroplated with gold. Half-fine and tested zari are described as such on the product page. We do not describe one as the other.
