Six metres. One weaver. Many weeks.
A silk saree is woven on a handloom, thread by thread. The zari border is worked separately and joined to the body by hand, and the pallu alone can take a weaver several days. Nothing about it is quick, which is rather the point.
That is also why two sarees from the same cluster are never quite identical. Slight variation in the weave is not a flaw to be apologised for — it is the evidence that a person, not a machine, made the thing you are wearing.
What we will not do
We do not describe half-fine zari as pure zari. Where a saree is described as pure zari, the thread is silver electroplated with gold. Half-fine and tested zari are described as such on the product page, every time.
